Misapprehension
2019
Misapprehension is a personification of hope and optimism.
Strips of fabric were eco-dyed with fallen leaves, and then gathered to alter the appearance of the leaf shaped prints. The desire to have a positive outlook can change perceptions, or encourage one to idealize.
Translucent cotton lawn and voile were chosen in this composition to represent how hopefulness can exist without feeling completely formed or having a solid foundation.
